One book which is sure to delight the cricket enthusiasts is A statistical journey of Irani Cup 1959-60 to 2013-14, meticulously compiled by C.Keshava Murthy.

Celebrating the rich history of Irani Cup, this excellent publication has been packed with interesting facts and figures.

Some of the interesting happenings covered in this book are - Jiwanjot Singh (Rest of India) is the first batsman to be dismissed off the first ball of the match in the Irani Cup history. He was trapped LBW by R.Vinay Kumar (Karnataka) at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore in February 2014.

Only the 1962-63 season witnessed eight-ball overs as an experimental measure.

Only two Irani Cup games have provided the instances of ten wickets in a match by both the sides - Bhagwat Chandrasekhar (10/97) for Rest of India and Baloo Gupte (11/74) for Mumbai in the 1963-64 encounter at N.Sanjeeva Reddy Stadium, Anantpur.

Attractively laid-out and logically organised, the book is recommended reading. What is most remarkable is that so much has been packed into a book of 122 pages, with everything set out with such clarity of detail.
